Denys Honcharenko is a product of the Dnipro Kherson hockey school, where he progressed through the club’s youth system, winning a silver medal in the Ukrainian U16 championship and a bronze medal at the U19 level. He later joined Sokil Kyiv, where he played until the 2022/23 season, helping the club win the Ukrainian championship and the Ukrainian Cup.
Honcharenko then continued his career abroad, representing the Mississippi Sea Wolves and Willmar WarHawks in the United States, as well as Kaunas City in Lithuania and Pergine in Italy.
Denys has also represented Ukraine at the U20 and senior national team levels.
Since the 2025/26 season, Denys Honcharenko has been a player for Kyiv Capitals.
