Gatis Sprukts is a native of Jelgava, where he took his first steps in hockey. Throughout his career in Latvia, he has represented HS Riga, Dinamo Riga, Zemgale/LBTU, Olimp, and Mogo/RSU. He also gained international experience with Donbas Donetsk in Ukraine, Kitzbüheler EC in Austria, and Brest and Cholet in France.
Sprukts has represented Latvia at the U18, U20, and senior national team levels. His international achievements include a gold medal at the IIHF U18 World Championship Division IA, as well as gold and bronze medals at the IIHF U20 World Championship Division IA.
At club level, Gatis has won three Optibet Hockey League titles and one silver medal.
Ahead of the 2026/27 season, Gatis Sprukts joined Kyiv Capitals.
