
Eduards Hugo Jansons was born in Riga and began his hockey journey with the youth team of Austria’s Lower Austria Stars. He later returned to Latvia, where he represented Saga, Prizma Riga, Zemgale/LBTU, and Dinamo Riga.
During his professional career, Jansons also played for Saryarka in Kazakhstan, Havířov and Dukla Jihlava in the Czech Republic, Vlci Žilina and Humenné in Slovakia, and GKS Jastrzębie in Poland. While with Vlci Žilina, he won back-to-back Slovak second division championships.
Jansons has represented Latvia at the senior national team level. Earlier in his career, he won gold medals at the IIHF World Championship Division IA with both Latvia’s U18 and U20 national teams.
Since the 2025/26 season, Eduards Hugo Jansons has been a player for Kyiv Capitals.
