The teams made changes to their lineups for this meeting. Following the defeat against Kremenchuk, Oleksandr Bobkin made adjustments to the attacking trio, moving Sydorenko, Kryklia, and Stetsiura to the third line. Meanwhile, our team also faced setbacks, with Sirchenko absent due to suspension and Tyshchenko returning to the lineup after missing the match against Sokil.

The match started positively for the visiting team, with Tyshchenko making his presence felt with a close-range shot that put the Capitals in the lead. As expected in a high-stakes game, there were numerous penalties throughout the match. Our team had the first opportunity to play 5×4, but failed to capitalize, while Odesa was more active, but Vilardo made crucial saves.

In the second period, both teams played rather good in attack, but the goaltenders stood out with excellent performances. The hosts had more scoring chances, as the Capitals players were frequently penalized, and Storm even had a brief 5×3 advantage. Despite this, Vadym Shakhraichuk’s team entered the third period with a slight lead.

Capitals started the final period strong, doubling their lead after a face-off. Chernenko gained possession, passed with Panchenko, and scored a goal past Zakharchenko with a powerful shot.

Afterwards, Capitals had many opportunities to capitalize on their advantage, however, Zakharchenko’s impressive performance foiled their attempts. However, the Odesa team scored after power play game. Stetsiura skillfully executed a play, taking a puck from Kryklia`s assist into the net.

As the third period wound down, Storm-Odesa once again found themselves with a 5×3 powerplay advantage, this time for a full minute. Oleksandr Bobkin’s team once again converted into a goal typical power play. Sydorenko outmaneuvered Melnykov, setting up Ratushnyi for the goal.

In the final minute of the third period, the visiting team had a numerical edge, but they were unable to secure a win in regulation time.

The overtime yielded no goals, leading to a shootout. Both teams demonstrated precision and efficiency during the shootout, with Sekirko, Chernenko, Panchenko, and Karpenko scoring for the Capitals, while Kryklia and Kobylnyk responded for Odesa.

Ultimately, our team emerged victorious over Storm-Odesa for the first time this season, but despite the win, they currently hold the third position in the standings with 17 points. Storm-Odesa, occupying the second spot, leads by just one point.

Vadym Shakhraichuk’s team is set to face Kremenchuk on December 1st, while Oleksandr Bobkin’s team will host Dnipro the day before.
