The status of the derby began to justify itself from the first minutes of the match. Both teams went to ice with the absolute understanding that victory is important as for the fight for the current first place, and from the moral side.
The score was opened by nominal guests. Cherdak, after an assist from Babynets, managed to realize the majority with a powerful shot. It took only five seconds for the Sokil.
However, the Capitals managed to win back. Panchenko got closer to Dyachenko and shot at the far post, where Kutsevуch was completely free. Vladyslav was not mistaken.
Nevertheless, Oleg Shafarenko’s team went to the first break as the leader and realized a double majority. Sliusar found Romashchenko, and Ruslan left Babik with a shot from an acute angle.
In the second twenty minutes, there were fewer pucks, or rather, only one. Vadym Shakhraichuk’s team managed to win thanks to the actions of the same duo. This time, Kutsevуch assisted, and Panchenko scored his ninth goal in the championship. By the way, in each of the periods, Kyiv Capitals scored more pucks, but the referees did not count them due to violations by the hockey players of the nominal home team.
During the next 25 minutes, the opponents created many opportunities to score at least once, but it didn’t work out. On the other hand, in a series of shootouts, the nominal hosts did not manage to impress the possession of Bohdan Dyachenko. Instead, Cherdak and Babinets brought victory to Sokіl with their pucks by penalty shots.
