Kyiv Capitals entered the match with the goal of securing their first-place position and continuing their winning streak for four games. On the other hand, the Kherson team had been improving their performance against top teams and saw an opportunity to compete for points.

Vadym Shakhraichuk’s team quickly took control of the match after Bortnikov was dismissed, but they failed to capitalize on their early advantage. Dnipro kept up a strong pace in the first period and eventually converted one of their chances. In the 16th minute, Tsiura took a puck near Boyko’s goal and scored from a tight angle.

However, the Kherson team couldn’t hold on to their lead until the end of the first period. Karpenko leveled the score with a precise shot.

In the second period, Capitals struggled to find the back of the net until they were awarded a double power play opportunity. Taking advantage of this, Karpenko scored his second goal of the game, assisted by Luhovyi. Despite this, the Kyiv team lead remained slim as they entered the final 20-minute period.

In the start of the third period Karpenko scored his third goal, marking the tenth in the championship. Sevastian’s crucial goal came when his team played 4×5, adding to the tension for Kostiantyn Butsenko’s team.

Our team capitalized on the situation with quick goals from Kryvonozhkin and Oliynyk, extending their lead comfortably. The four-goal advantage held until the final buzzer, securing Vadym Shakhraichuk’s team’s third victory over Dnipro this season and earning them 26 points to maintain the top spot. Meanwhile, the Pikes remained in fifth place.

The Kyiv team’s next match will be against Sokil on December 17 after a championship break for the national team matches. On the other hand, Dnipro will face Kryzhynka a day later.
