Series score – 1:2

Before the first home match of the final series, Andrii Sriubko didn`t make any changes to the line-up. Instead, Vadym Shakhraichuk may have wanted to do the same, but was forced to make changes due to the disqualification of Karpenko (1 match) and Koida (2 matches).

As a result, Tyshchenko returned to the first attacking line, where he started the season with Chernenko and Panchenko, while Hu, Kryvonozhkin, and Oliynyk formed the second line. In addition, Vasyliiev and Mazko switched places in the pairs of defenders. This meeting was a debut at the statring five for 17-year-old Matvii with Kyiv Capitals.

Unlike the matches in Kyiv, the game was much more open. Kremenchuk was the first to score. The goal was quite bizarre, as Tselohorodtsev passed to Hevorkian, and Melnykov, who was returning to defense, unsuccessfully put the stick down and redirected the puck into his own goal.

On the other hand, Capitals played similarly. Hu threw from the blue line, and the puck after ricocheting off the hosts’ player was taken in Zacharchenko’s goal. Before the end of the period, Andrii Sryubko’s team played twice in power play after the penalties for Mazko and Melnykov, but they couldn’t take the lead for the second time.

In the second period, our team’s hockey players remembered how successful they were in power play during matches of the regular championship against Kremenchuk. Firstly, Tyshchenko finished a brilliantly played combination after assists from Berdniks and Chernenko, and then Panchenko successfully played at the rebound after an attack, which he started.

At the start of the second half of the period, Abdullaiev received a disqualification penalty for a fight, and Kucher appeared in Kremenchuk`s goal for the first time in this series. However, five minutes of power play for Capitals turned into one due to penalties for Kryvonozhkin and Berdniks.

The start of the third period turned out to be successful for the hosts. Ihnatenko quickly narrowed the gap in the score with a long shot, and the outcome of this match was decided in the last five minutes. Tyshchenko received a penalty, which was quickly converted into a goal by Tselohorodtsev. Artem equalize the score and scored a double in the second consecutive match.

Danylo’s rehabilitation was immediate, and Capitals` forward successfully played on the rebound, responding with his own double. The Kyiv team held onto the winning score and once again took the lead in the series. The opponents will meet again at the Iceberg Arena on April 2nd.
