For this match, Vadym Shakhraichuk’s team did not have the services of their primary striker, Vladyslav Kutsevych, as he was not included in the lineup due to a minor injury. Additionally, Tryzub made some changes to their personnel, with Taras Bega, Illia Generalov, Yakiv Seredovych, and Kyrylo Llianyi leaving the team. In their place, Nazar Danylenko and Maryan Ponomarenko were added to the squad.
As for the match itself, Oleksandr Yakovenko’s team won in first period, not allowing the Capitals to score in the first twenty minutes. Bondarenko capitalized on a defensive mistake from the Capitals and managed to steal the puck, passing it to Cheremnov, who scored to give Tryzub the lead in the game.
In the eighth minute, Tymchenko received a disqualification penalty for a rough foul against Panchenko, which gave Vadym Shakhraichuk’s team the opportunity to play with an extra player for five minutes. But they weren`t capitalized this advantage and convert it into a goal. During the initial period, Bezkhlibnyi showcased excellent play in the defensive phase, repeatedly saving Tryzub from conceding goals.
As the second period progressed, the Capitals managed to equalize the score. One more time, Vadym Shakhraichuk’s team benefited from a long-range shot by Taran, who scored the opening goal for the Capitals in the match.
Shortly before the second break, the visiting team took the lead. Berdniks fired a powerful shot from a distance, causing the puck to ricochet off Bezkhlibnyi and curiously find its way into the net. This marked the Latvian player’s first successful shot in our team, allowing Vadym Shakhraichuk’s team to capitalize on their numerical advantage for the first time in the game.
The start of the third twenty minutes once again confirmed that this time, Ccapitals would not be as easy as in their previous meetings with Tryzub. Rosliakov passed and Vitalii Havryliuk was already waiting for that. Havryliuk left no chance for Babik, equalizing the situation on the scoreboard.
Bezkhlibnyi continued to show a great game in goal, but Vadym Shakhraichuk’s team still managed to avoid overtime. Dvornyk was the first to finish after Panchenko’s throw, putting the Kyiv Capitals ahead for the second time, once again utilizing their numerical advantage.
In the last minute, Oleksandr Yakovenko made the decision to remove the goalkeeper and create an artificial majority. Panchenko took advantage of the opponent’s unprotected possessions and set the final score in the meeting as 4:2 in favor of the Kyiv Capitals.
Thus, Vadym Shakhraichuk’s team scored their 20th point in the championship, but remained in third place. On the other hand, Tryzub is currently in fifth position with six points. This Sunday, both teams will once again take to the ice at the Kyiv Sports Palace, with Oleksandr Yakovenko’s team playing against Kremenchuk and Capitals facing off against Dnipro from Kherson.
