Vadym Shakhraichuk’s team made a victorious comeback following the international break, emerging triumphant in the highly anticipated Kyiv derby.

The meeting began with both teams struggling to gain an advantage, with several dropped pucks. In the first few minutes, Oleksandr Yakovenko’s team had a power play opportunity, but the opposing team managed to score first. Koida seized the opportunity after Tyshchenko’s shot was blocked, and he scored his second goal of the season.

In the second half of the period, Vadym Shakhraichuk’s team extended their lead. Panchenko combined well with Chernenko, outmaneuvered Neverov, and scored his 20th goal of the season. Just before the end of the first twenty minutes, Yaroslav scored, making his 21st goal of the season. After Moksunen`s assist he throw the puck into an empty net.

However, the opposing team started the second period strongly. Tymchenko had a one-on-one opportunity against Babik and skillfully capitalized on it, beating the Slovakian goalkeeper.

Capitals forward, Danylo Tyshchenko, showcased his skills when he capitalized on his opportunity to face the goalkeeper during the second period. With an excellent assist from Luhovyi, Tyshchenko secured his 11th goal of the season by placing the puck in the possession of Bezkhlibnyi.

Scarcely 30 seconds later, Tryzub team struck again, marking their fifth goal of the game. Chernenko triumphed in the face-off, and Berdniks skillfully scored a remarkable goal off the crossbar after receiving a precise pass from a distant throw.

The Capitals maintained their momentum and further extended their lead. Koida executed an impressive run down the flank and delivered a precise pass to Kryvonozhkin, who first defeated Bezkhlibnyi and then successfully capitalized on the unprotected net. Thanks to this goal, Kryvonozhkin surpassed Tyshchenko, reaching a total of 11 goals for the season.

Capitals, playing on their home turf, solidified their dominance by scoring a seventh goal. Kutsevych, Chernenko and Panchenko displayed exceptional teamwork, concluding with Yaroslav’s hat-trick goal. It is worth mentioning Chernenko’s fourth assist of the game, bringing his total assists for the season to 22 as the captain of Capitals.

In the third period, Capitals defender Berdniks started off with a double, making an impressive contribution to the game. Denis added to the team’s lead with a long-range shot. Oleksandr Yakovenko’s team continued to show their determination by scoring their second goal of the match. Frolenko’s powerful shot hit the post, but Tymchenko was quick to react and successfully finished the play, scoring into the empty net. This impressive performance resulted in a double for the Tryzub`s forward.

However, Vadym Shakhraichuk’s team didn’t let this setback dampen their spirits. Towards the end of the match, they retaliated with two goals. Sirchenko scored after a long-distance shot, while Luhovyi displayed excellent skills on the finish.

Kyiv Capitals managed to score ten goals against the Tryzub team for the second time this season, securing their fourth victory against Oleksandr Yakovenko’s team. This win provided a significant boost to Vadym Shakhraichuk’s team, allowing them to reclaim the second position in the standings, surpassing Kremenchuk.

Both teams will face their next opponents on December 24th at the Kyiv Sports Palace. Capitals will take on Kharkiv Berserks, while Tryzub will compete in the derby against Sokil.
