In this article, we will speak about our youth team, led by Ihor Arkhypenko which continue to compete in the Junior Hockey League. 

In this year’s JHL tournament, the competition featured six participants, including teams like Kryzhynka-Capitals, Shershni from Bohuslav, Bilyi Bars from Bila Tserkva, Sokil from Kyiv, Kremenchuk and Dnipro from Dnipro. Two last teams were unable to advance to the playoffs after the conclusion of 20 matches.  

Ihor Arkhypenko’s team secured the second position in the regular season standings. Oleksandr Dreval emerged as the top scorer for the team with ten goals. However, in the playoffs, Oleksandr Valkun surpassed him with nine goals in the regular season and an additional goal during the relegation matches. Notably, Valkun leads Kryzhynka-Capitals with 14 assists. Also Denys Plesovskykh recorded 4 goals and 11 assists, while Artem Arkhypenko scored 8 goals, showcasing their significant contributions to the team. 

After all, in the semi-finals, our team was set to play with Bilyi Bars. In the first match, Ihor Arkhypenko’s team suffered a 2-3 home defeat, with goals scored by Anatolii Revuka and Oleksandr Valkun. The following showdown in Bila Tserkva was even more intense. Kryzhynka-Capitals held the lead thanks to Nazar Katrusha’s goal for two periods, only to be equalized in the final 20 minutes. The game ultimately went to a series of shootouts, where our team managed to level the two matches battle score with precise shots from Anatolii Revuka and Denys Plesovskykh. 

Meanwhile, the regular season champions – Shershni and Sokil faced off in the other semi-final pair. Both teams secured victories on home ice, with scores of 8-3 and 8-4.  

The decisive third matches in the series are set for Sunday, where the finalists will be determined.
