After the recent matches of the Ukrainian national team, the women’s domestic championship resumes. This weekend, Yevhen Alipov’s team will be playing a double-header at the Kyiv Sports Palace, with the Kraken Sisters visiting as the away team.
The Kyiv Capitals players are currently at the top of the standings after two matches in the opening round. On the other hand, team from Odesa is in third place. In their previous encounters, Capitals managed to secure two victories against Prydniprovsk with an impressive total score of 40:0 (15:0 and 25:0). The Alipova sisters and Anna Holitsyna have also made it into the top four scorers of the championship.
Oleksandr Bobkin’s team, faced a disappointing start to the season, suffering two defeats on their home ice against Panthers. The matches ended with a score of 1:13 and 1:8 respectively.
It is worth mentioning that during the break in the championship, several players from both teams had the opportunity to participate in international games. Four players from the Capitals team, namely the Alipova sisters, Yuliia Dobrovolska, and Angelina Maifeld, along with Olha Khrystorizenko from the Kraken Sisters team, represented Ukraine in two friendly matches against Lithuania. These friendly encounters resulted in each team securing a victory.
Looking ahead to the upcoming matches, Kyiv Capitals is considered the favorites, but Kraken Sisters will undoubtedly put up a fight in their quest for their first points in the championship.
In addition, it is worth noting that the remaining two matches of the tour will be held in Dnipro, where the local team Prydniprovsk will host Kharkiv Panthers.
