Karpenko is from Kherson hockey school. At the professional level, he defended the colors of Kyiv Sokol, Vinnytsia Haydamaki, Kremenchuk, Donbas, Kramatorsk and Mariupol.
In addition, Sevastyan has experience playing for the national and youth teams of Ukraine.
