Romanian forward of Moldovan origin, Vladyslav Teamriuc, who is currently on a tryout with Kyiv Capitals, discussed how the opportunity to join the team in Ukraine came about. He also offered insights into the training regimen and his expectations for upcoming matches against Coventry Blaze.

Vladyslav, tell us how you came up with the option of cooperation with Kyiv Capitals?

Vadym Shakhraichuk reached out to me, and his involvement played a crucial role in my decision. As a result, I am now in Kyiv with the team.

As the team is currently in the midst of pre-season training, how do you feel about the overall training process?

I must say, I have had a positive experience so far. The training regimen is of high quality, and the club’s meticulous attention to even the smallest details is impressive in ensuring a well-organized process.

What can you say about Kyiv as a city? Have you had the chance to visit it and Ukraine in general before?

Yes, I can share that Kyiv is an incredible city with rich history and vibrant culture. I have visited Ukraine many times in the past, as my family has roots in the country. My mother and grandmother are from Dnipro, while my father hails from Znamianka. I have frequented Dnipro and Odesa more often, but I also have fond memories of visiting Kyiv during my childhood.

This weekend, Kyiv Capitals will play their first ever international friendly matches, and their opponent will be Coventry Blaze. How interesting will it be to try yourself against the English team?

I am excited at the prospect of competing against the English team as I see this as an excellent opportunity for the club’s growth and international exposure. The upcoming matches hold great interest for me primarily from a sporting perspective as I always strive for excellence. It is essential to approach the games with composure and focus, as psychology plays a crucial role in such matches. I have previously faced the Great Britain national team, and now I aim to showcase my skills at the club level. The national team of Great Britain has been a formidable opponent, and I am curious to see what challenges Coventry Blaze will present to us.

The final matches of the qualification for the 2026 Olympic Games concluded last Sunday. Did you keep up with them?

Unfortunately, I couldn’t catch any of the matches due to a busy schedule. However, I did manage to watch highlights of the games of the national teams of Ukraine and Great Britain.
