November 22, 13:00, Riga, Volvo Ice Arena.
For the second time in 20 days, the representatives of the Latvian and Ukrainian capitals will face off on the ice of the Volvo Arena.
The previous matchup ended in a convincing victory for Oleg Tymchenko’s team – 6:2. However, at the home match, the Capitals lost to Prizma 2:3 in overtime. Therefore, on Saturday, one of the teams will have a chance to take the lead in the head-to-head season series.
Since the last meeting between these opponents, Eriks Miluns’ team has put in productive work: they won the derby against HS Riga and defeated Zemgale/LBTU in a shootout.
Thus, Prizma enters the game in a positive mood and will look for an opportunity to get even closer to the league’s top four. Once again, attention will be drawn to the duel between the teams’ statistical leaders – Roberts Jekimovs, who has 23 points (12+11), and Martins Karsums, who has collected 25 points (8+17).
Both players are among the league’s Top-5 goal scorers and will look to improve their numbers further.
However, team play must take center stage. So we will soon see which side proves stronger in this crucial aspect.
