The bronze medalist of the previous Optibet League season has joined the defensive line of our team.
Pauls began his senior hockey career with HS Riga. Also in his homeland, the Latvian defended the colors of Dinamo, Olimp, and Liepaja, for the last one he scored 45 points (12+33) in 48 games last season.
Abroad, our newcomer has played for the Swedish Trollhattan, the Hungarian Dunaujvarosi Acelbikak”, and the Polish Torun.
In addition, Svars has experience playing for the youth, junior, and senior national teams of Latvia.
Among Pauls’ personal achievements, it is worth noting the silver medals of the World Junior Championship (U-20) in Division 1A, as well as gold, silver, and bronze medals of the Optibet League. Following the previous season, he was recognized as the best defenseman of the Optibet League regular championship.
