March 11, 19:00, Tallinn, Haabersti Arena.
With today’s match in Estonia, Kyiv Capitals, coached by Oleg Tymchenko, will conclude the regular season of the Optibet League. Regardless of the result, the team will finish in fourth place and therefore take part in the quarterfinals.
Meanwhile, the team coached by Mikko Maenpaa still has a chance to move up to fifth place. However, to achieve that, they need nothing less than a victory in tonight’s game.
The Tallinn side approaches the matchup in good spirits after defeating Hockey Punks on March 1. Since then,Panter have been preparing for their clash with the Kyiv team.
The season series between the teams currently stands at 3:1 in favor of Tymchenko’s side. After a difficult first meeting (2:1), the following games went quite convincingly for our team (8:3, 10:1). However, in the previous match on January 28, the Estonians secured an overtime road victory (5:4).
The top scorers in the head-to-head meetings are Kyiv forward Yang Hu, who has eight points (2+6), and Panter player Nikita Puzakov, who has four points (1+3).
Puzakov has also recorded the most points during the regular season with 34 (10+24). For Kyiv, Martins Karsums has collected 45 points (18+27).
We eagerly await the final step for both teams before the quarterfinal stage of the playoffs.
