The 39-year-old forward with NHL experience has joined our team.

The Latvian player began his hockey journey in the 2000/2001 season with Riga’s Prizma. Later in his career, Karsums played for Lido Nafta, Riga 2000, and Vilki OP at home.

Before making his NHL debut, Martins gained experience in other North American leagues, playing for the American clubs New York Apple Core and Providence Bruins, as well as the Canadian Moncton Wildcats. In the 2008/2009 season, the Latvian forward took on the challenge of the world’s top league, donning the jerseys of the Boston Bruins and Tampa Bay Lightning. Afterward, he also played for Norfolk Admirals in the AHL, before moving on to Riga’s Dinamo.

In addition, our newcomer has competed in the German championship, representing Krefeld Pinguine and Tolzer Lowen, and also played for Slovakia’s Liptovsky Mikulas. In the 2024/2025 season, he tallied 23 points (11 goals + 12 assists) with Latvia’s Zemgale.

It is worth noting that Karsums has extensive experience representing Latvia at the U18, U20, and senior national team levels.
