Oleg Tymchenko’s squad secured their eighth consecutive victory in the 2026/2027 Optibet League.

For this matchup, the team’s roster was bolstered by 19-year-old newcomer Maksims Saperins, who is currently on a tryout. Meanwhile, the starting goaltender spot for the clash against his compatriots was handed to Conrad Mölder.

Just six minutes in, the Kyiv team earned its first power play of the match. Although Capitals failed to convert, the sustained pressure generated during the man advantage ultimately led to the opening goal. Following a shot by Sprukts, Vladimirov gave up a rebound in front of the crease, and Sarkanis was the first to react, burying the second-chance opportunity.

The Ukrainian representatives were also tested on the penalty kill. After effectively shutting down the opponent’s 5×4, the visitors soon doubled their lead. Andreykiv skated down from the blue line toward Vladimirov’s net and unleashed a powerful shot to register his third goal of the season and his milestone tenth point.

In the second period, the hosts capitalized on their second power-play opportunity of the game. Furthermore, they managed it in just 16 seconds. Marek Potsinok skillfully navigated the slot to breach Mölder’s net for the first time.

Oleg Tymchenko’s squad didn’t take long to respond with a 5×4 conversion of their own. Sprukts masterfully deflected a pass from Sarkanis, joining Stradnieks in reaching the 20-point mark for the season. Deivids also celebrated a milestone of his own, bringing his tally to 30 points.

In the third period, the Estonians once again cut the deficit to a single goal. Fedorovits collected his own rebound and finished the play unassisted.

Over the course of the final 20 minutes, our team heavily outshot the opposition (21:7). However, the scoreline remained unchanged. Consequently, the Ukrainian representatives secured their eighth consecutive victory, accumulating 20 points to maintain their spot at the top of the league standings.
