Oleg Tymchenko’s team is set for their second clash with Zemgale/LBTU. The previous encounter is a truly memorable one, as it marked the start of our club’s debut season in the Optibet Hockey League. Back then, the Capitals managed to tip the scales in their favor, claiming a 3:2 overtime victory.
Heading into tomorrow’s matchup, both teams sit at the top of the standings. The Kyiv side has collected 22 points, while the Latvians trail closely behind with 21. In the previous round, Artis Abols’ squad suffered a home defeat against Liepaja, which allowed our team to reclaim first place.
It’s worth noting that this loss ended Zemgale/LBTU’s impressive winning streak, which had lasted for a month and a half and included eight consecutive victories – a run that began after their previous meeting with Kyiv Capitals.
