November 26, 19:15, Pinki, Inbox Ice Arena
Oleg Tymchenko’s team approaches the matchup against the Vilnius side in a positive mood. The reason is their winning streak throughout November, which now stands at four games.
As for their opponents, Dovydas Kulevicius’ team has collected five points in the last three games: they defeated the Panthers (4:2), then lost to HS Riga in a shootout, and the next day beat the Riga team 4:2.
This upcoming encounter will be the third head-to-head meeting between the teams. The previous games were played at the Pramogu Arena in Vilnius, and now the Lithuanian side travels to its neighboring country, Latvia. The Capitals confidently won both earlier matchups – 7:3 and 4:2 – and will look to extend their successful November run.
As usual, let’s highlight the statistical leaders of both teams. One more goal allowed Martins Karsums to reach 26 points this season (9+17). Meanwhile, the opponent’s top scorer is Finnish forward Aleks Maunula with 16 points (5+11).
It is also worth noting that another vital game for shaping the top of the standings will take place on Wednesday. Current league leaders Liepaja will host Zemgale/LBTU, so we will be keeping an eye on that matchup as well.
