Our girls started the final day with a qualification match for the semifinals. For the second time in the tournament, Yevhen Alipov’s team crushed Estonia (U-18).

This time, Reshetnova and Maifeld scored braces, while Trufanova and Alipova added one goal each to the team’s tally. For the second consecutive game, Trifonova found the back of the Ukrainian net. This time, by converting a power play. The bright victory meant advancing to the semifinals, where the hosts, Sostine Hockey, were already waiting for the Kyiv Capitals.

Our girls had no time to rest, which was reflected in the final result – an 8:0 defeat.

Yevhen Alipov’s team got a second chance to fight for medals in the match against England. Despite putting up a worthy performance, our girls could not take revenge on the English team, losing with a score of 3:0.

Nevertheless, such experience is undoubtedly a significant contribution to the development of Ukrainian hockey players. Therefore, we are sincerely grateful to the girls for their performance at this tournament.

It should be noted that the winner of the Sostine Hockey Girls Cup 2026 was Latvia’s Laima, who defeated the tournament hosts in the final with a score of 4:1.
