OlehgTymchenko decided not to change the lineup that had defeated Zemgale/LBTU, trusting the same players with ice time.
The visitors took the lead right from the start. Karsums broke in alone against Milbergs, and after the goalie’s initial save, he capitalized on the rebound. It was already the captain’s ninth goal of the season.
Shortly after the early opener, the Capitals converted on their very first power play. After a brilliant exchange between Fursa and Honcharenko, all Tsarkovskyi had to do was tap the puck into the empty net, which he did.
Before the first intermission, the Capitals struck again. Zelts weaved through several opponents and set up Saroka, who scored his debut goal in the Optibet League.
Late in the second period, Marat completed his brace. This time, the Polish player took matters into his own hands and sliced through almost the entire Prizma defense on his own.
However, the Riga side found a worthy reply. Before the second intermission, Voris misplayed the puck behind the net, hitting Riekstins, who redirected it in to make it 1:4. And at the start of the third, Kristaps stylishly doubled his personal tally. After that, Duve replaced Voris.
The Capitals regained control after converting another power play. Tsarkovskyi fired a low pass across the crease to Hu, who roofed the puck off the crossbar to restore a three-goal cushion for Tymchenko’s team.
The game was heading toward a calm win for the Capitals, but Kyiv scored again in the final minute – this time shorthanded. Kryvonozhkin pounced on Shamardin’s shot and buried the rebound to seal the final score.
6:2 – the team’s second road victory at the Volvo Ice Arena by the same score.
The championship continues for Oleg Tymchenko’s men on November 26 with a matchup against Hockey Punks.
