For our girls, the day turned out to be truly action-packed. The starting 30 minutes of the match against the Estonians were marked by four goals, with Alipova and Fetsenko each recording a brace.

The third 15-minute period replicated this goal count. Fetsenko completed a hat-trick, and Alipova scored a poker. Reshetnova also added a goal to the team’s tally.

Only at the very end of the match did Trifonova allow the Estonians to respond with a goal of their own, but nothing more. A crushing morning triumph for Yevhen Alipov’s team – 8:1.

In the second match, the Kyiv team faced off against the tournament hosts, Sostine Hockey. The first period became decisive in this matchup. Vaidinauskaite, Aliukonyte, and Kondratjeva sent three pucks into Hamarnyk’s net.

In the middle of the second 15-minute period, Aliukonyte scored a brace, setting the final score of the match at 4:0 in favor of the Lithuanians.

The final match could have introduced some intrigue regarding the semifinal bracket. To achieve this, the Kyiv team needed a win. However, by the third minute, Ievina had already put the Latvians ahead. Before the end of the opening period, the Ukrainians had a two-minute power play but failed to equalize.

In the second period, Laima failed to convert their own numerical advantage, but the most interesting events took place in the third 15-minute segment.

Berzina doubled her team’s lead, but six minutes before the end of regulation, Fetsenko successfully capitalized on a rebound after a shot by Shymanska.

However, Jekabsone quickly restored her team’s two-goal advantage, setting the final score of the match at 1:3.

Tomorrow at 10 a.m., the Kyiv Capitals will play a playoff qualification match against Estonia (U-18). The winner will face Sostine Hockey in the first semifinal.
