Vadym Shakhraichuk’s team will hold the first Kyiv derby of the season at the official level (we recall the friendly match against Sokil). This time their opponent will be Tryzub. This match can also be called as «fight» of newcomers, because both teams are playing only their first season in Ukrainian hockey.
Oleksandr Yakovenko’s team was the last member of 2023/2024 season. During Cup of Ukraine the team lost in matches against Sokil and Dnipro, taking third place in group A.
Unfortunately for both rivals, they started the championship with home defeats. Last Sunday, Сapitals lost to Dnipro with a score of 1:3, and Tryzub defeated in match against Kremenchuk – 0:7.
Despite the lack of history of matches, it can be noted that certain relations between the clubs are already present. Kyrylo Bondarenko, who has a current contract with the Capitals, plays for Trуzub on loan.
However, the main task for each of the opponents in this meeting will be replenishing their own points balance. For both teams, this victory could become the first in the history of Ukrainian championships. We are convinced that the motivation to achieve a positive result in the second match in a row on the ice of the Kyiv Sports Palace will be very great.
