The starting matchweek for our team was very successful. The women’s championship started with a match against Kraken Sisters. It is worth noting that the Odesa team made much more resistance than a year ago and managed to score first.

However, then Capitals took control of the game. Elen Alipova scored twice and also Kosich and Holitsyna secured a comfortable advantage. However, at the end of the period, hosts scored their second goal.

The second period made it clear that our hockey players are close to their game goal. Kopylova and double of Elizabet Alipova developed Capitals` success of, and as a result, the match came to victory with a score of 10:3.

Greater intrigue and struggle were anticipated in a duel against the reigning champions, Kharkiv Panthers. However, an air alarms twice interrupted the game. First, a delay in the start, followed by another unplanned break during the first period. Despite the setbacks, the score was opened by a Kosich`s goal during a power play opportunity.

The started period was rather tough, lacking in significant events. But the second period saw a flawless performance from Yevhen Alipov’s team, with Holitsyna scoring twice and goals from Mesropian and Elizabet Alipova further solidifying their lead. The match seemed to lose its suspense with these developments.

The final period brought some more goals, with Kosich scoring twice, made her status as the standout player of the two games with a total of 5 goals and 3 assists. Noteworthy performances also came from the goalkeepers (Hamarnyk and Datsiuk), who made a shutout.

Looking ahead, the first round will conclude with a match between Kraken Sisters and Panthers, setting the stage for three more exciting matches in the following week.
