Today, Vadym Shakhraichuk’s team will face off against the new contender, Kryzhynka. This marks the return of Kryzhynka-Companion to the elite division since the 2015/2016 season.

The team is led by Ihor Arkhypenko, who brought over key players from their victorious Junior Hockey League campaign, including Danylo Makarenko, Artem Nevierov, Andrii Baibarza, Illia Senyk, and Oleksii Cheremnov, all of whom were recent Ukrainian Cup finalists as Tryzub players.

Joining them are Oleksandr Buniak, Kyrylo Bondarenko, Borys Krykun, Viktor Chaika, and Vitalii Shvachka, who previously played for Oleksandr Yakovenko`s team in the 2023/2024 season. Yaroslav Andriichuk, a former member of our team who trained with us at the start of the season, will also be suiting up for Kryzhynka.

Despite suffering a heavy 0:16 loss to Kremenchuk and a 1:5 defeat to Sokil in their first two matches of the championship, Arkhypenko’s team aims to bounce back and showcase its` potential.

In contrast, Capitals played their most recent match six days ago, securing a 3:0 victory over Kremenchuk on their home turf. Positioned as favorites in the upcoming head-to-head match, our team holds a significant advantage as they cannot afford to drop points, given the current five-point gap to the league leaders, Storm-Odesa. The impending clash with Kryzhynka, under Vadym Shakhraichuk’s guidance, presents an opportunity to narrow this gap.

It’s worth noting that other matches in the league took place on Saturday, with Kremenchuk trouncing Dnipro 9:0 and Storm-Odesa asserting dominance once again with a 4:1 victory over Sokil.
