In the last match of the first circle, the second and fourth-placed teams from the previous championship faced each other for the first time. Vadym Shakhraichuk’s team, which had been on a winning streak in home matches against Kremenchuk in the 2023/2024 season, approached the game with confidence. However, all of previous victories had been achieved at another venue, the Palace of Sports.

On the other hand, the guests were in good spirits following their home victory against Kryzhynka. Just like in the match against Ihor Arkhipenko’s team, Mykyta Hordiushyn took his place in goal for the visiting team. Additionally, there was a recurring trend of air alarms in the Capitals’ home games, causing a 70-minute delay in the start of the match.

In a closely contested game in the middle of the period, the hosts gained a numerical advantage after Ihnatenko was penalized. It took just 55 seconds for Kyiv team to capitalize on this opportunity. Chernenko intercepted the puck from the opponents and sent a precise pass to Teamriuc, who then set up Panchenko for an easy goal, his fifth of the season.

Shortly after, Capitals extended their lead with another goal during a power play. Once again, Chernenko-Teamriuc duo combined effectively, with Tyshchenko beating Hordiushyn with a close-range shot.

During the break, Andrii Sriubko decided to make a change, with Kucher stepping into the visitors’ goal at the beginning of the second 20-minute period. Kremenchuk had their first opportunity to play with numerical advantage after Kryvonozhkin’s exit, but thanks to Vilardo’s strong defensive play, Capitals held firm. Despite Panchenko receiving a penalty shortly after, the visiting team failed to capitalize on their chances to score.

Instead, Vadym Shakhraichuk’s team continued to dominate on the power play. Capitals extended their lead with another well-executed play, resulting in Panchenko netting his second goal, with Chernenko earning his third assist.

In the final period, Kyiv team played more defensively, while the team from the Poltava region looked to seize control of the game. However, they were unable to score at least once.

So, Capitals secured a convincing win, earning nine points and climbing to second place in the standings. Special praise goes to Nick Vilardo for achieving his debut shutout in just his second game.

Vadym Shakhraichuk’s squad will face Kryzhynka in their next championship match on November 18, while Kremenchuk will take on Dnipro in Bila Tserkva the following Saturday.
