Our team faced some troubles with roster in the second face-to-face match. Vasyliiev and Koida were unable to play due to illness, while Sekirko was sidelined with an injury. There were changes in the goalkeeping position as well. Vilardo had to temporarily leave Ukraine for personal reasons, leading to Artem Mykhailychenko joining the team from Kryzhynka.

The hosts saw some new additions, including Marian Ponomarenko making his debut this season. However, Ihor Arkhipenko’s team continued to struggle with personnel issues, and the coach faced challenges in forming a complete lineup. A notable moment was goalkeeper Mykyta Petlenko’s first appearance in the starting line-up.

The visiting team took an early lead with Oliynyk scoring in the third minute. The game progressed rapidly, with Shakhraichuk’s team capitalizing on a power play goal by Liesnikov, and Tyshchenko scoring a brace along with Kryvonozhkin finding the back of the net before the first break.

In the second 20 minutes, the situation remained unchanged as Kyiv Capitals continued to dominate. They managed to score five times, with Kryvonozhkin securing a hat trick, Liesnikov scoring a double, and goals from Karpenko and Panchenko.

Despite this, Ihor Arkhypenko’s team ended their scoreless streak, as Chaika capitalized on Dyachenko’s shot, preventing Boiko from achieving a shutout.

The final 20 minutes saw fewer goals, but our team still found success with goals from Luhovyi and Lapko, bringing the final tally to 12 goals and securing the Capitals’ most significant victory of the season. This win propelled them to first place with 23 points.

Looking ahead, Vadym Shakhraichuk’s team is set to face Dnipro from Kherson in their next match on Friday, while Kryzhynka will take on Storm-Odesa a day later.
