At the season’s final meeting against the Pikes, our team was not at full strength. Oleksii Melnykov, Eetu Moksunen, and Yevhen Sekirko were recovering from injuries, and Mykyta Oliynyk was absent due to illness. Despite this, host team approached the match with a full roster.

Capitals quickly secured the first lead, which they successfully maintained with Tyshchenko’s goal during power play. After small amount of time the game stopped for 30 minutes due to air alarm, but resumed afterward.

Guests continued to extend their lead with Hu and Panchenko started a swift counterattack, finished off effectively by the Canadian and after that Plesovskykh scored third puck in the match due to good game on the rebound.

In the second period, Vadim Shakhraichuk’s team maintained their momentum. By the midway point of the period, the score remained unchanged. But in last 10 minutes before the second break Hu achieved a hat-trick, while Luhovyi and Kryvonozhkin found success on rebounds.

In the last period, the coaches turned to their goalkeeper as Haas was subbed for Boiko and Taras Muryn took the place of Terletskyi on the ice.

Despite the score difference, the Kyiv team didn’t give up and continued to push forward on the attack. Karpenko notably scored his 24th goal of the season. Despite their efforts, the opposing team answered by Honcharenko`s puck.

Following that, only our team managed to score goals. Shevchenko found the net by the first time, Luhovyi and Tyshchenko made doubles, and Hu completed a pocker.

Thanks to this victory, Vadym Shakhraichuk’s team earned 58 points and climbed to second place, with Storm-Odesa trailing by just one point with a game in hand. It’s worth mentioning that on Friday, Kyiv Capitals will face Sokol, who recently won in a match against Kremenchuk, while Dnipro will compete against Kryzhynka the next day.
