Nominal guests arrived at the meeting, facing significant personnel losses due to the virus outbreak. They were unable to form a complete team without key players such as Liesnikov, Tyshchenko, Sekirko, Luhovyi, Melnykov, and Koida. As a result, Vadym Shakhraichuk had to make adjustments to the game line-up.

Ihor Arkhypenko’s team had a roster of 16 field players, with an imbalance of nine defenders. To address this, Horbunov and Neboian were shifted to the attack position.

Despite the challenges with the team line-up, the guests started the game strongly. Shevchenko, scoring his first goal in Kyiv Capitals` jersey, along with Chernenko and Panchenko, managed to secure a three-goal lead within the first seven minutes.

The home team had an opportunity to turn the game around after two penalties for Berdniks, but failed to beat Boyko. Even with a two-minute advantage for Vadym Shakhraichuk’s team, they couldn’t capitalize on it. However, before the first period ended, they extended their lead. Panchenko showcased impressive individual skills to outmaneuver the opponents’ defense and score a double.

In the second period, Ihor Arkhypenko’s team once again found themselves in a man-up situation, but surprisingly, it became benefit for Capitals. Plesovskykh scored his first goal of the season, followed by another goal from Panchenko, while playing short-handed. Denys and Yaroslav added to the tally, securing a double and poker respectively. Also we have to add that Plesovskykh scored the 100th goal for Kyiv Capitals in the current championship.

Until the end of the period, they bolstered their lead with goals from Karpenko and Kryvonozhkin, giving Vadym Shakhraichuk’s team a double-digit advantage. The hockey players didn’t let up and opened the third period with a quick goal from Panchenko, completing a hat-trick. Once again, Capitals showcased their prowess with Valkun and Kryvonozhkin who made the score 0:13.

But the game didn’t stop there. The visiting team managed to get on the board with a goal from Vasyliiev. They went on to score more, with Panchenko notching his sixth goal of the match.

In the last minutes, Kryzhynka managed to score one time after Diachenko`s puck. However, it was a minor consolation as the guests narrowed the gap to the current leaders, Sokil, by three points. Both teams will play their next games on February 11, with Ihor Arkhypenko’s team heading to Odesa and Vadym Shakhraichuk’s squad traveling to Bila Tserkva.
