Another gold medalist of the previous Optibet League season has joined our team.
The forward is a native of Jelgava, where he took his first steps at the youth level. Gatis has also played for such Latvian teams as: HS Riga, Dinamo, Zemgale, Olimp, and Mogo/RSU. In the Mogo/RSU squad, he played 43 matches last season, recording 14 goals and 27 assists.
Sprukts’ career also includes experience playing in the Ukrainian championship, where he defended the colors of Donbas Donetsk. Other foreign teams in our newcomer’s biography include the Austrian Kitzbuheler, as well as the French Brest and Cholet.
In addition, Gatis has experience playing for the Latvian youth, junior, and senior national teams.
Among Sprukts’ career achievements, it is worth noting a gold medal at the World Championship Division 1A with the Latvian youth national team, gold and bronze medals of the same division with the junior national team of his country, as well as three sets of gold and one set of silver medals of the Optibet League.
